We interrupt this program...

...while I frantically clean the house. Last night, my father-in-law called to let us know that he and his wife are in Providence, and we're having them over for dinner. We've been putting off spring cleaning, the husband is at work, and I'm turning into a veritable white tornado.

I'm not even going to try to hide the yarn that's overflowed the yarn closet. There's no point.

Yarn is pretty - no need to hide it at all. I've been there/done that with the whirlwind cleaning. Turn on some loud music and go go go.

Have fun with your family. - zuma

Good for you, let it all hang out in the open! No need to hide our addictions! I love having true motivation for cleaning~

I agree with Rebel yarn is pretty. I have a basket that is overflowing in my living room and it looks like it is supposed to be there. Have a good visit and don't freak out too much over cleaning. Have a good weekend.

Well atleast they called before popping up on your doorstep. If someone just showed up on my doorstep at this very second, we'd be having a lovely conversation sitting out on the porch. Lol And yes, sometimes it takes a fire under my butt to get me moving too. Lol

Oh man! Good luck and have fun! I wouldn't worry too much about the yarn though. It could be a conversation starter! :)

Good luck with the clean up, I'm the same. I think doing house work is a waste of knitting time and only do it when I have too. (Usually when a parent visit is pending!!!)

We have friends who continually call us up and say, "We're in town - can we come and visit in 30 minutes?"

We seem to do our best cleaning that way...

Wuhahaha! Relatives visiting is the only reason I think my bathroom ever gets cleaned! So glad I'm not the only one that does the deep cleaning like that!

Have a good time with the inlaws!

Have a good visit! At least you have a bit of time, my inlaws live 5 miles away!

Nothing like impending guests as an impetus to clean clean clean!

No wonder I never have company ;-)

As for the yarn..... flash your stash baby!!

Oops! I hate when that happens!

SEE - it happened to you too. I think we have been all so caught up in everythign else that the piles grow in various areas. I have company coming again today and already more cleaning is required. Have a great week-end (and the yarn is decoration don't worry about it)

Just found your blog and had to laugh! I "go by" batty as well and am a librarian... do you think that means something?!?!? Love your sisters socks and the sweater too! Have a lovely visit with the family!

Yarn is pretty! I agree!
let it hang out!
I used to be frantic when my inlaw's threatened a visit...( they were both very sweet people and we miss them very much)
Have fun visiting!
oh... and could you send above mentioned cleaning fairies my way, when they are done at your house?

Hate housework. I do it little and often so I never have to really go for it. Lucky for me my MIL never visits and the rest of family - only descend occasionally, we are way too weird for them.

Gah for impromptu visitors! I'd leave the yarn out too, who needs ornaments with such gorgeous fibres around.

Oh, I hate "visitor cleaning." I guess it does inspire one to get things cleaned up, but my version of it usually includes sweeping piles of paper and miscellaneous kid toys into a big box, then stashed in my closet. Not the most organized way to tidy up. Hope you had a good visit!

That sounds like something my in-laws would do. I hope it all went well.
